The competition draw for the 2012 Illawarra Rugby Senior competition has been released.

The IDRU Annual General Meeting was held on Wednesday 30th November 2011 at the Master Builders Club.

The IDRU Illawarriors get their 2012 representative season underway in earnest in January starting with training for the senior and U20's teams on the 11th Jan.

Congratulations to all the boys who have been successful in selection for the 2012 Under 13's squad.

The IDRU AGM will be held on Wednesday 30th November 2011 at the Wollongong Master Builders Club, Church Street, Wollongong, starting at 7.00pm

The IDRU Under 13's trials for the 2012 representative team commence on Sunday 23rd October at Wollongong Uni. Oval 3.

The Illawarriors Senior and Under 20’sTraining Squads to prepare for the 2012 NSW Country Championships have been announced The Squads will commence training with Head Coach, Sean Barrett on Sunday

Wollongong Vikings won the IDRU Master Builders 1st Grade Premiership for the second year running with a hard fought 29-17 victory over Avondale on Saturday 24th September,

Avondale won the minor grades with victories in 2nd Grade 41 - 15 against Shamrocks and a 40 -10 victory against Vikings in 3rd Grade.

The 2011 IDRU Grand Finals have been moved to Vikings Rugby Park, Wollongong due to an unscheduled closer of WIN Stadium.

All game times and match day arrangements remain the same.

The IDRU Master Builders Premiership Grand Finals are to be played this weekend at WIN Stadium. Details of the games are as below. Full details are on the attached referees appointment notice.

Avondale to take on Vikings in the 1st Grade Grand Final next weekend at WIN Stadium.

Vikings progressed through to the Grand Final after a well earned victory over Tech Waratahs 25-5

Avondale Rugby progress to the grand finals in all three grades after wins in the major semi finals on Saturday 10th September.

The finals to be played next week, Sat 17th September, at Shoalhaven Rugby Park will be as below, with the winners of each grade progessing to the grand final on the 24th September against Avondale in all grades.

Death of Norm Coles, a true "Rugby Great"

It is with extreme sadness that IDRURA & IDRU report the passing away of Norm Coles Friday afternoon 22nd April. Norm refereed over 600 games of Illawarra Rugby. He will be sadly missed by all of us and our deepest sympathies go to his family. All grade games will employ a minute’s silence prior to kick off to honour our departed colleague.
Norm’s funeral will be held on Friday 29th April at the Northcliffe Chapel of Hansen & Cole, 634 Northcliffe Drive, Kembla Grange, commencing at 10.00am.
